Mont St. Michel
The abbey of Mont St. Michel is unique in that it sits on a 264 foot rocky formation between Normandy and Brittany. The abbey took some 500 years to complete from 1017 to 1521. For a short period of time it even served as a prison. Today it serves as a UNESCO tourist attraction, though monks still use it for worship.

The Acidic Forest
Our world is a precious commodity. It’s the only breathing planet we have. Yet we continue to pollute it, destroy its forests. This image, from a photo, was altered digitally to bring out the acidic effect that destroyed these trees. The forest is burning and the skies are unhealthy looking. Can we afford to destroy the only ecosystem that sustains life?
